About the Role

We are seeking an experienced financial crimes prevention, compliance, and risk management professional at the Senior Associate or Director level to support and lead complex financial crimes prevention, compliance, and risk management engagements for financial services clients in the United States and abroad. This role is ideal for a highly motivated compliance professional with deep AML/CFT, BSA/AML, OFAC, sanctions, fraud prevention, risk management, and client advisory experience.  Title and compensation will be determined on experience and qualifications.

This individual will support the successful delivery of domestic and international engagements involving financial crimes prevention, enterprise risk management, consumer protection, and compliance program development across jurisdictions and financial services verticals. The role will work closely with senior leadership and team members to strengthen client relationships, elevate team performance, and contribute to the company’s growth, strategy, and reputation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support client engagements involving BSA/AML, AML/CFT, OFAC, sanctions, fraud prevention, transaction monitoring, model validation, due diligence, and compliance risk management.

  • Conduct independent reviews of clients’ BSA/AML and sanctions compliance programs, including risk-based testing, customer file reviews, transaction testing, sanctions screening reviews, alert investigations, and recordkeeping assessments.

  • Develop and enhance tailored compliance programs, policies, procedures, internal controls, governance structures, and regulatory reporting processes.

  • Serve as a fractional or outsourced compliance officer for clients, including managing risk assessments, SAR and CTR processes, CIP, CDD, EDD, training, regulator communications, audit readiness, and board reporting.

  • Support outsourced compliance administration, including documentation management, regulatory reporting, workflow execution, and liaison activities with clients, bank partners, auditors, and regulators.

  • Manage project workstreams, coordinate tasks across small teams, track progress, maintain high-quality deliverables, and serve as a client point of contact for issue resolution.

  • Evaluate, tune, and enhance transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, risk assessment, and model validation processes using relevant compliance systems and data-driven methods.

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through workflow design, process automation, data analysis, and practical technology enablement.

  • Stay current on regulatory developments, emerging financial crime typologies, and industry best practices across state, federal, and international frameworks.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in financial crimes compliance, AML/CFT, BSA/AML, sanctions, fraud prevention, risk management, or financial services compliance consulting.

  • Strong understanding of financial technology, payments, digital assets, money transmission, banking, or other financial services business models.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, risk-based operational controls and client-ready deliverables.

  • Experience with transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, risk assessment, due diligence, model validation, and independent review methodologies.

  • Familiarity with compliance and investigative platforms such as Bridger, World-Check One, Thomson Reuters CLEAR, Verafin, Actimize, Safeguard, or similar systems.

  • Strong project management, process design, analytical, writing, and client communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a remote, fast-paced, client-facing environment with strong responsiveness, judgment, ownership, and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency with tools such as Excel, Google Workspace, Smartsheet, or similar collaboration, analysis, and project management platforms.

  • Comfort working across unfamiliar regulatory topics and international frameworks through self-directed learning and collaboration.

Job Title:   Regulatory Licensing Associate

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Regulatory Licensing Associate to join our financial services consulting team. This role is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills and an interest in regulatory compliance within the financial services industry. The Associate will support clients across a range of licensing and registration requirements, including money services businesses (MSBs), earned wage access (EWA) providers, and consumer lending entities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, file, and maintain Secretary of State (SOS) registrations across multiple jurisdictions on behalf of clients

  • Track and manage entity registrations, annual reports, and renewal deadlines to ensure ongoing compliance

  • Assist in the preparation and submission of state licensing applications, including Money Transmission Licenses (MTLs) and other financial services licenses

  • Research and compile state-specific licensing requirements for MSBs, EWA programs, and lending activities

  • Support the collection and organization of required documentation, including:

    • Personal disclosures (e.g., control persons, key individuals)

    • Entity formation documents and organizational charts

    • Financial statements and supporting schedules

  • Conduct regulatory research and analyze state and federal statutes, rules, and guidance relevant to client activities

  • Coordinate with clients to gather necessary information and ensure completeness and accuracy of filings

  • Maintain internal trackers and documentation to support project management and regulatory reporting

  • Collaborate with senior team members to identify licensing risks, gaps, and strategic considerations.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in regulatory compliance, licensing, legal support, or financial services (internships acceptable for entry-level candidates)

  • Familiarity with financial services regulations (e.g., MSB, lending, payments) is a plus

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with licensing systems (e.g., NMLS) is a plus
